Safari Clothing

It is best to keep luggage on safari to a minimum. Light aircraft have a lower luggage weight allowance (15kgs maximum per person) than international airlines. Soft holdall or duffel bags are ideal as they are more suited to the restricted loading areas of safari vehicles and light aircraft. Formal clothing will not be necessary on safari. Camouflage clothing is forbidden in East Africa. Temperatures are generally warm during the day with little humidity inland, evenings can cool off considerably, and get quite chilly. A selection of 'layers' will allow you to add or reduce as the temperature varies. A suggested clothing list is as follows:
1 lightweight rainproof jacket
1 fleece or warm jumper
2 long sleeve shirts
2 t-shirts
2 pairs trousers / slacks
2 khaki shorts / skirts
1 bathing suit
5 pairs underwear and socks
1 wide brimmed hat covering ears and back of neck
1 pair hiking shoes
1 pair flip flops / sandals
