Tipping

General tipping in East Africa, such as in a restaurant is 10% in either local currency or small denomination US$ bills.

Tipping lodge and camp staff is customary in East Africa, although completely up to guests how much to tip, if at all; usually depending on the level of service received.
A guideline recommended by most lodges and camps, as well as ourselves is in the region of $10 per guest per day for lodge and camp staff.
This does not include your professional safari guide, or other specialist guides. Should you be happy with their service we suggest $50 to $80 per guide per day.

We do not include gratuities in the price quoted for our safaris unless under prior arrangement with guests.
